if 2/3 of the men are married to 3/7 of the women and the total population is more than 1000. if all marriges happen within town then find the smallest possible no. of total population ​

Let say Man = M

& Woman = W

2/3 Of Man =  3/7 of Woman

=> 2M/3 = 3W/7

=> 14M = 9W

=> W = 14M/9

Total Population  = M + W

= M + 14M/9

= (9M + 14M)/9

= 23M/9

for every 9 Man  there are total 23 population

for 9x man  there is 23 x population  ( man has to be 9x as woman are 14M/9 so woman will be 14x )

23 x > 1000

=> x > 1000/23

=> x >  43.47

=> x = 44  ( to have smallest possible number of total population)

Man = 9 * 44 = 396

Woman = 14 * 44 = 616

Total Population = 1012
