Given:

2/3 piece of iron has a mass of 6kg.

To Find:

The mass 5/6 of the iron piece.?

Solution:

now, let the mass of 5/6 iron piece be x

   \sf⇒\frac{2}{3}  :  \frac{6}{1}  ::  \frac{5}{6}  : x

when two quantities are in proportion their product of means = product of extremes.

\sf: ⟹  \frac{2}{3}  \times x =  \frac{5} {\cancel{6}}  \times  \frac {\cancel{6}}{1}  \\ \\  \sf: ⟹  \frac{2x}{3}  =  {5} \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:    \\  \\ \sf: ⟹ 2x = 5 \times 3 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \\  \\ \sf: ⟹ 2x = 15 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\ \sf: ⟹ x =  \frac{15}{2}   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\  \sf: ⟹ x =7  \frac{1}{2} kg  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:

\blue{ \underline{ \boxed{ \pink{ \mathfrak{ \therefore \:  \frac{5}{6}iron \: piece \: contains 7\frac{1}{2}kg \: mass  }}}}}

hope this helps.!!
