ATQ,

(2/5)x - 36 = (1/7)x

=> (2/5)x - (1/7)x = 36

=> ( 14x - 5x )/35 = 36

=> 9x/35 = 36

=> x / 35 = 4

=> x = 140

Thus the number is 140
