Step-by-step explanation:

 {2}^{5x + 4}  =  {2}^{5x}  \times  {2}^{4}

1)

 {2}^{5x + 4}  =  {2}^{3}  = 8

5x + 4 = 3 =  > 5x =  - 1

x =  -  \frac{1}{5}

2)

 {2}^{5x + 4}  = 64  = (  {8})^{2} = ( { {2}^{3}  })^{2}  =  {2}^{3}  \times  {2}^{3}  =  {2}^{6}

5x + 4 = 6

5x = 2 =   > x =  \frac{2}{5}
