Given:

         Eigen values of matrix A are 2 and 3

To find:

         Eigen values of matrix A + 5I are ?

Step-by-step explanation:

          Eigen values concept :

               If \lambda is an eigen value of a matrix A and k is a scalar then :

                   1. k\lambda is an eigen value of matrix kA .

                   2. \lambda^{m} is the eigen value of matrix A^{m}.

                   3. \lambda + k  is an eigen value of matrix A + kI.

                   4. \lambda - k  is an eigen value of matrix A - kI.

             Here ,A is a  matrix. 2 and 3 are eigen values of matrix A

                        => Eigen values \lambda = 2 , 3

             We want to find eigen values of A + 5I matrix    (A + kI form)

              Using concept(3) ,\lambda + k is an eigen value of matrix A + kI.

                                A + kI   =    A + 5I

                                        k  =>  5

                                        \lambda  =>  2, 3

                             Eigen values of  A + 5I is \lambda + 5

                                     \lambda = 2 => \lambda + 5 = 2 + 5 = 7,

                                     \lambda = 3 => \lambda + 5 = 3 + 5 = 8.

               So, Eigen values of A + 5I are 7 , 8.
