ANSWER :

GIVEN :

A POLYNOMIAL ax² + 5x + b = 0

TO PROVE :

a = b

SOLUTION :

WE KNOW THAT PRODUCT OF ROOTS = c/a

HERE

a = a , b = 5 and c = b

= PRODUCT OF ROOTS = c/a = (2)(½)

= b/a = (2)(½)

= b/a = 1

= b = c (Hence proved)
