If 2 by 5 of a number exceeds 1by7 of the same number by 36 find the number

Answer:

Let the number be x

2/5x -36 = 1/7x

2/5x - 1/7x = 36

14/35x - 5/35x = 36

9/35x = 36

x = 36 * 35/ 9

x = 4 * 35

x = 140
