amitnrw: 10C + 10T = 7000 divide by 2 => 5 C + 5T = 3500 . I believe there is some typing mistake in data of Question.

Answer:

The cost of 5 chairs and 5 tables is 3500

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x and y be the cost of one chair and one table respectively.

As per given data,

2x=5y..................(1)

10x+10y=7000........(2)

Now,

5(2x)+10y=7000

5(5y)+10y=7000

25y+10y=7000

35y=7000

y=\frac{7000}{35}

y=200

put y=200 in (1) we get

2x=5(200)

2x=1000

x=\frac{1000}{2}

x=500

\implies\:5x+5y=5(500)+5(200)

\implies\:5x+5y=2500+1000

\implies\:5x+5y=3500
