Answer:

p=-1/2 an roots are 2 and 5/2

Step-by-step explanation:

SINCE,-2 IS A ROOT OF P(X)

PUT X=-2 IN GIVEN EQUATION

=>(-2)^2+P(-2)-5=0

=>4-2P-5=0

=>-2P-1=0

=>-2P=1

=>P= -1/2

NOW PUT P IN GIVEN EQUATION

=>X^2-1/2X-5=0

( I simplified the equation and directly write it :p)

=>2X^2-X-5=0

BY FACTORIZATION

=>2X^2+4X-5X-10=0

=>2X(X+2)-5(X+2)=0

=>(X+2)(2X-5)=0

EITHER (X+2)=0. OR (2X-5)=0

=>X=-2. =>X= 5/2

THEREFORE VALUE OF P IS -1/2 AND ROOTS OF THIS EQUATION ARE -2 AND 5/2

IT IS MY FIRST TIME I HAVE WRITTEN A SOLUTION SO KINDLY PLZZ IGNORE THE SILLY MISTAKES

THANK YOU
