As 2 is the root of the equation

2(2)^2 - (2)k + 1 = 0

8 - 2k + 1 = 0

9 - 2k = 0

2k = 9

k = 9/2 ie 4.5

Hence the values of k is 4.5.

The value of k is 4.5.

Given:

a quadratic equation: 2x²- kx + 1 = 0

2 is the root of the given equation

To Find:

we need to find the value of k

Solution:

substituting the value of x as 2 in the equation, we get-

2(2)² - 2k + 1 = 0

now, solving the equation further, we can find the value of k as follows-

2(4) - 2k + 1 = 0

8 - 2k + 1 = 0

9 - 2k = 0

2k = 9

k = 9 ÷ 2

k = 4.5

Thus, the value of k will be 4.5.
