Answer:

The answer is -7

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equations are:

   i) 3x² + ax - 14

  ii) 2x - b

It is given that 2 is a zero of both the polynomials. So when we substitute the value of x as 2, the answer we get should be 0

i) 3× (2)² + a×2 - 14 = 0

ii) 2× 2 - b = 0

Solving (i)....

3×4 + 2a - 14 = 0

12+ 2a- 14 = 0

12+ 2a = 14

2a = 14-12 = 2

a = 2/2 = 1

The value of 'a' is 1

Solving (ii).....

2×2 - b = 0

4 - b = 0

b = 4

The value of 'b' is 4

Substituting these values in the equation given

a - 2b

1 - 2×4

1 - 8 = -7

Therefore the answer is -7

Thank you
