if 2 is the root of the quadratic equation 3 X square + px minus 8 is equal to zero and the quadratic equation 4 x square - 2 pX + K is equal to zero has equal roots find the value of k​

Answer:

One root is 2

.:f(x)=3x^2+px-8

f(2)=3(2)^2+2p-8

0=12+2p-8

-2p=4

.:p=(-2)

F(x)=4x^2-2px+k

As roots are equal

.: D=0

D=b^2-4ac

0=(2p)^2-4(4k)

0=4p^2-16k

As p=-2

.: 0=4(-2)^2-16k

0=16-16k

16k=16

.:k=1
