if -2 is the zero of the polynomial 3x^2 -4x + 2k then

f(x) = 3x^2 + 4x +2k

f(-2) = 3(-2) ^2 - 4(-2) + 2k

= 12 + 8 +2k

= 20 + 2k

if given polynomial 3x^2 +4x +2k = 0 then 20 +2k =0

therefore, 20 +2k= 0

2k = -20

k= -10

hence the value of k is -10
