Answer:

Let the capacity of 1 man be 'M'.

Let the capacity of 1 woman be 'W'.

According to the question,

2 men and 8 women can finish a piece of work say 'S' in 15 days.

=> (2M + 8W) * 15 = S ———————(1).

Same amount of work 'S' is completed by 8 men and 16 women in 6 days.

=> (8M + 16W) * 6 = S ———————(2).

From equations (1) and (2),

=> (2M + 8W) * 15 = (8M + 16W) * 6.

=> (2M + 8W) * 5 = (8M + 16W) * 2.

=> (10M + 40W) = (16M + 32W).

=> 6M = 8W.

=> 3M = 4W.

Therefore, the amount of work done by 3 men is equivalent to the amount of work done by 4 women.
