If 2 resistors are connected in series, their effective resistance is 100Ω and if the same resistors are connected in parallel, the total resistance is 24 ohms. Find the resistances of the individual resistors.

Let the two resistance in series be :- r , R

The two resistance are same in both series and parallel i.e ,

r and R ( series ) = r and R ( parallel )

According to question ,

For series :-

➡️ R + r = Equivalent resistance

=> R + r = 100 ________ (i)

For parallel ,

R + r = 24__________ (ii)

Therefore now by substitution or elimination method solve both the eqn ( i) and (ii)
