If 2^x+y =16 and 2^2x-y= 32, then x^2+y^2 is equal to​

HELLO FRIENDS ,

2^x+y = 16

2^x+y = 2^4

(on power )

x+ y = 4 --------------(i)

now , 2^2x -y = 2^5

( on power )

   2x - y = 5 ----------------(ii)

now by elimination method ,

add (i) and (ii)

we get , 3x = 9

so, x = 3

and from (i) y = 1

now x^2 + y ^2 = (3)^2 + (1)^2 = 9+1 = 10
