if 2(x+y)=2(x-y)=root 8 then find the value of x.

2(x + y) =  \sqrt{8}  \\ 2x + 2y = 2 \sqrt{2} .....1
2(x - y) =  \sqrt{8}  \\ 2x - 2y = 2 \sqrt{2} ....2
adding 1 and 2 we get
4x = 4 \sqrt{2}  \\ x =  \sqrt{2}
put x=√2 in 1
2 \times  \sqrt{2}  - 2y = 2 \sqrt{2}  \\ 2y = 2 \sqrt{2}  - 2 \sqrt{2}  \\ y = 0
Therefore, x= √2
