Equation : 20 + 8x.

• The result is 10 less than ten times the number.

Equation : 10x - 10

According to question,

20 + 8x = 10x - 10

=> 10x - 8x = 20 + 10

=> 2x = 30

=> x = 30/2

=> x = 15

On putting the value of x in the above eqⁿ , we get;

20 + 8x = 10x - 10

=> 20 + 8 × 15 = 10 × 15 - 10
