Given :

The sum of two consecutive even Numbers is 20

To Find :

  • The two consecutive even Numbers whose sum is 20.

Solution :

  • Let the two consecutive even Numbers be x and x+4 whose sum is 20

So ,

\implies\sf{(x)+(x+4)=20}

\implies\sf{2x + 4=20 }

 \implies\sf{2x=20 - 4}

\implies\sf{2x = 16}

 \implies\sf{x =  \frac{16}{2} }

 \implies\sf{x =8 }

Therefore,

➡ The one number is

\implies\sf{x = 8 }

 \implies\bf{8 }

and

➡ The other number

 \implies\sf{x + 4  }

  • (Place the value of x in it )

\implies\sf{(8) + 4 }

\implies\bf{x =12 }

Verfication :

We know that the sum of two consecutive even Numbers is 20 so let's check whether the sum of this Numbers is 20 or not.

 \implies\bf{8 + 12 = 20 }

Hence verified
