Solution:

Given,

  • Force = 20N
  • Length of rectangular surface = 30cm
  • Breadth of rectangular surface = 20cm

To find,

  • Pressure

___________________________

Firstly finding area of rectangular surface

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Ar(rectangle) = 30 × 20

Ar(rectangle) = 600 cm²

Converting to m²

Ar(rectangle) = 0.6

Using the formula

P = F/A

Where

  • P : pressure = ?
  • F : force = 20N
  • A : area = 600 cm²

Substituting the values we have

→ P = 20/0.6

→ P = 20/(6/10)

→ P = 200/6

P = 33.33 Pascal (N/)

Hence , pressure acting of the rectangular surface = 33.33pa
