Solution:
Given,
- Force = 20N
- Length of rectangular surface = 30cm
- Breadth of rectangular surface = 20cm
To find,
- Pressure
___________________________
Firstly finding area of rectangular surface
Area of rectangle = length × breadth
Ar(rectangle) = 30 × 20
Ar(rectangle) = 600 cm²
Converting to m²
Ar(rectangle) = 0.6 m²
Using the formula
P = F/A
Where
- P : pressure = ?
- F : force = 20N
- A : area = 600 cm²
Substituting the values we have
→ P = 20/0.6
→ P = 20/(6/10)
→ P = 200/6
→ P = 33.33 Pascal (N/m²)
Hence , pressure acting of the rectangular surface = 33.33pa
