HEY MATE

UR ANSWER IS

========================================================

Let x and y be the numbers.

20<strong>x</strong>/100 = 25<strong>y</strong>/100

x/5=y/4\\</p><p>x=5y/4\\

x+y=135

5y/4+y=135

5y+4y=540\\</p><p>[tex]9y=540

y=60

x = 5y/4=5 × 60/4 = 75

Difference of the numbers = 75 - 60 = 15

Let the two numbers be x and y

20% of a number is equal to 25% of another number

20% of x = 25% of y

x × 20/!00 = y×25/100

x/5 = y/4

cross multiply

4x = 5y

x = 5y/4 ....(1)

The sum of total of these two numbers is 135

x + y = 135 .....(2)

substitute (1) in (2)

x + y = 135

5y/4 + y = 135

LCM..4

(5y + 4y)/4 = 135

9y/4 = 135

9y = 135 × 4

9y = 540

y = 540/9

y = 60..(3)

Substitute (3) in (2) to derive 'x'

x + y = 135

x + 60 = 135

x = 135 - 60

x= 75

The difference of these two numbers

x - y or y - x

75 - 60 or 60 - 75

15 or -15
