Balanced equation:

CaCO3 + 2HCl → CaCl2 + CO2 + H2O

1mol CaCO3 reacts with 2 mol HCl to produce 1 mol CO2

Molar mass CaCO3 = 100g/mol

Mol CaCO3 in 20g = 20/100 = 0.20mol

This will react with 0.4 mol HCl

Molar mass HCl = 36.45g/mol

mol HCl in 20g HCl = 20/36.45 = 0.548 mol

You have excess HCl - the CaCO3 is limiting

0.2 mol CaCO3 will produce 0.2 mol CO2

Molar mass CO2 = 44g/mol

Mass of 0.2 mol CO2 = 0.2*44 = 8.8g CO2 produced.
