Number of moles in 20 grams CaCO₃ = 20/100 = 0.2 moles

Number of moles in 20 grams HCl = 20/36.5 = 0.54 moles

CaCO₃  +  2HCl  ------------->  CaCl₂  +  CO₂  +  H₂O

In the above equation 1mole of CaCO₃ reacts with 2moles of HCl to give 1mole of CO₂.

So, 0.2 moles of CaCO₃ reacts with 0.4moles of HCl to give 0.2moles of CO₂.

It simply means that after this reaction, the moles of HCl left (0.54-0.4 =0.13)
will not have any CaCO₃ left in the container for the reaction to happen.

So only 0.2moles of CO₂ will be formed.

Mass of 0.2moles of CO₂ = 0.2 x 44 = 8.8 grams
