Question:-

If 230 joules of heat is supplied to 15 gm of water. calculate the rise in temperature of water

Solution:-

Given,

Heat supplied Q = 230J

Mass of water m = 15 gm

We know that,

specific heat of water is 1 . Also,

Q = msT

230 = (15)(1)(∆T)

(∆T) =  \frac{230}{15}

∆T = 15.33

Change in temperature (or) in temperature is ∆T = 15.33°C
