Given:

1/4 subtracted from half of a number is 1/4 part of a number.

To find:

What is the number.

  • Solution:

Let the number be x

  • So as per the condition of the question the equation of the condition is given by:

\sf\frac{x}{2} -\frac{1}{4} = \frac{x}{4}

\sf\frac{x}{2} - \frac{x}{4} = \frac{1}{4}

\sf\frac{2x-x}{4} = \frac{1}{4}

\sf\frac{x}{4} = \frac{1}{4}

By solving the equation we get the value of x= 1
