Answer:

Let the edge of box be 'a' cm.

If a box has a square base and open top,

Surface area of box = Area of 4 walls of box + Area of base of box = 4(side)^2 + (side)^2

=5(side)^2

=5(a)^2

A.T.Q.

MATERIAL REQUIRED TO MAKE BOX = SURFACE AREA OF BOX

2400 = 5(a)^2

(a)^2 = 480

a = 21.9 cm

LARGEST POSSIBLE VOLUME OF BOX

= (a)^3

= (21.9)^3

= 10503.46 cm cube
