Given :–

  • A piece of work done by 25 men in 3 days.

To Find :–

  • How many days can 5 men do the same work.

Solution :–

First, we need to find the total work done in 3 days.

So,

Total work done in 3 days = a piece of work by 25 men × time.

  • A piece of work done by 25 men.
  • Time = 3 days.

So,

Total work done = 25 × 3

 \longrightarrow 75

So, the total work done in 3 days is 75.

Now, we have to find in how many days can 5 men do the same work.

It means,

We need to find time (t).

 \longrightarrow  \sf \dfrac{Total \: work \: done}{5}

  • Total work done = 75.

 \longrightarrow  \sf \dfrac{\cancel{75}}{\cancel{5}}

 \longrightarrow  \sf \dfrac{15}{1}

 \longrightarrow 15 days.

Hence,

The same work done by 5 men in 15 days.

Let ,

↪Piece of work = W

↪15 men = 3 days

↪5 men = X days

Thus,

W = m × t

  • [ here is W = work, M= men and t = time ]

↪Work done by 25 men in 3 days would be

↪25×3 = 75

Now,

↪ how many days( T )will take to 5 men to do same work (W) , where W = 75

  • From the equation W = m × t make time "T " the subject of the equation

Thus,

↪t =  \frac{W}{m}

  • [ where W = 75 and m = 5 ]

↪t =  \frac{75}{5}

↪t = 15

Therefore,

5 men can complete the piece of work in 15 days.
