median =n/2+n/2+1/2
because it is even

n=26
then 13+1=14

shellykmanchand: This is wrong... kindly anyone give the solution in detail.. Ans= Mean 9.8,median=9 and which alphabet corr6esponds to the median? Its ans is i.

Answer:

Mean = 10.2

Median = I = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that alphabets are assigned numbers from 1 to 26, i.e. A = 1, B = 2, ... so on.

Our vowels and numbers assigned to them are are

A = 1, E = 5, I = 9, O = 15 & U = 21

The mean of these 5 vowels can be found as

Mean=\frac{Sum}{5}

Mean=\frac{1 + 5 + 9 + 15 + 21}{5}

Mean=\frac{1 + 5 + 9 + 15 + 21}{5}

Mean=\frac{51}{5}

Mean=10.2

If we arrange above 5 numbers representing vowels in ascending order we get the following series

1, 5, 9, 15, 21

Here 9 represents the median of our vowels and 9 represents I in the vowels.
