Given Equations Are:-

29x+37y=103

37x+29y=95

  • On Multiplying (i) By 37 And (ii) By 29 And Subtracting, We Get

⇒\sf \: 1073x+1369y=3811

 \bf \:  \frac{1073x + 1369y = 2755}{528y = 1056}

∴ y=2

On Putting y=2 In (i), We Get

 \tt \: ⇒29x=103−37×(2) \\  \:

 \tt \: ⇒29x=29

∴x=1,y=2

Hence The Answer Is ,

 \sf \: x=1,y=2

Answer:

The value of x is 1 and y is 2. So, option (a) x = 1, y = 2 is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given two equation 29x + 37y = 103 and 37x + 29y = 95. With is information, we have been asked to find out the value of x and y respectively.

The given equations are,

29x + 37y = 103 …..(1)

37x + 29y = 95 …..(2)

Now adding both the equations, we get:

→ 29x + 37x + 37y + 29y = 103 + 95

→ 66x + 66y = 103 + 95

→ 66x + 66y = 198

→ 66(x + y) = 198

→ x + y = 198/66

→ x + y = 3 …..(3)

Now subtracting equation (1) from equation (2), we get:

→ 37x - 29x + 29y - 37y = 95 - 103

→ 8x + (-8y) = 95 - 103

→ 8x - 8y = -8

→ 8(x - y) = -8

→ x - y = -1 …..(4)

Now adding equation (3) and equation (4), we get:

→ x + x - y + y = -1 + 3

→ 2x = 2

→ x = 2/2

x = 1

Now substituting the value of x = 1 in equation (3), we get:

→ 1 + y = 3

→ y = 3 - 1

y = 2

Hence, the value of x = 1 and y = 2. So, option (a) x = 1, y = 2 is correct.
