Answer:

a = 3/2 or 2

b = 4/3 or 1

Step-by-step explanation:

2a + 3b = 7 --(i)

ab = 2

b = 2/a -- (ii)

putting b = 2/a in eq(i)

2a + 3( 2/a ) = 7

2a + 6/a - 7 = 0

2a^2 + 6 - 7a

___________ = 0

a

2a^2 - 7a +6 = 0

a = 3/2 or 2 [ by middle term splitting ]

putting a = 3/2 and 2 in eq (ii)

therefore , b = 4/3 or 1
