Answer :-

4a² + b² = 13.

Explanation :-

Given Values :

  • 2a + b = 5.
  • ab = 3.

To Find :

  • 4a² + b²

Solution :

We are given with expression,

2a + b = 5.

By Squaring Both Sides,

⇒ (2a + b)² = 5²

Now, Use Identity :- (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab.

⇒ 4a² + b² + 2ab = 25.

⇒ 4a² + b² + 2(2ab) = 25.

⇒ 4a² + b² + 4ab = 25.

Put the value of ab.

⇒ 4a² + b² + 4(3) = 25.

⇒ 4a² + b² + 12 = 25.

⇒ 4a² + b² = 25 - 12.

⇒ 4a² + b² = 13.

Therefore, 4a² + b² = 13.
