Question :- If ( 2a+b , a-b) = ( 8,3) ,then the value of a = ?

(A) 3

(B) 13/3

(C) 11/3

(D) none of these.

Solution :-

given that,

→ ( 2a+b , a-b) = ( 8,3)

so, cooresponding elements will be equal . we get,

→ 2a + b = 8 ------------- Eqn.(1)

→ a - b = 3 ---------------- Eqn.(2)

adding Eqn.(1) & Eqn.(2) we get,

→ (2a + b) + (a - b) = 8 + 3

→ 2a + a + b - b = 11

→ 3a = 11

dividing both sides by 3,

→ a = (11/3) (Option C) (Ans.)

Hence, value of a will be (11/3) .

[ Note :- if in question we have to find value of (a - b), then, it will be 3 directly .]
