Given:

  • t2=13

  • t5=25

To Find:

  • t7=?

Solution:

Since,

we know that,

tn=a+(n-1) d...... (formula)

: . t2=a+(2-1) d

: . a+d=13............. (1)

And,

t5=a+(5-1) d

: . a+4d=25............ (2)

Subtracting equation (1) from (2) we get,

3d=12

: . d=12/3

: . d=4

Now, Substituting the value of d in (1) we get,

a+4=13......... (1)

: . a=13-4

: . a=9

Now, The seventh term,

According to the formula,

t7=9+(7-1) 4

: . t7=9+(6) 4

: . t7=9+24

: . t7=33

Therefore,

The seventh term of an A. P is 33.
