It is given that they are in AP so,

So, there common differences should also be equal...

a1 = 2p

a2 = p + 10

a3 = 3p + 2

a3 - a2 = a2 - a1

3p + 2 -( p + 10) = p + 10 - 2p

3p + 2 - p - 10 = - p + 10

2p - 8 = - p + 10

2p + p = 10 + 8

 3p = 18

\boxed{p = 6}

sprao534: simple mistake in calculation
sprao534: R. H. S is - p+10
