First, I'd like you to know that I'll be using 'a ' as theta as it consumes time writing the word over and over again.
Now,
2sin a = √3
=> sin a = √3/2
We know, by triangle property that sin a = perpendicular / hypotenuse
= √3 / 2
and also,
cos a = base / hypotenuse
So, using Pythagoras theorem,
(Hypotenuse)^2 = (Base)^2 + ( Perpendicular) ^2
=> 2^2 = (base)^2 + 3
=> (base)^2 = 1
=> base = 1
Hence, cos a = base/ hypotenuse
= 1/ 2
Hope this helps!!
