HEYA!!

Answer:

a=-5

Step-by-step explanation:

2x + 1 = 0

x =  - \frac{1}{2}

on putting this value in equation as it was it's factor:

2x^{2}  + ax - 3 = 0

2( \frac{ - 1}{2} )^{2}  + a( \frac{ - 1}{2} ) - 3 = 0

2  \times \frac{1}{4}  + a( \frac{ - 1}{2} ) - 3 = 0

 \frac{1}{2}  - \frac{a}{2}  - 3 = 0

 \frac{1  - a - 6}{2}  = 0

 \frac{ - 5 - a}{2}  = 0

 - 5 = a
