Given - Expression 2x-2y=10 and x+y=5

Find - Value of y

Solution - The value of y is 0.

Let us say 2x-2y=10 to be equation 1 and x+y=5 to be equation 2.

Now, take the value of y from equation 2 and putting in equation 1.

y = 5 - x.

Putting this in equation 1, we get -

2x - 2(5 - x) = 10

Solving the above-mentioned equation for the value of x.

2x - 10 + 2x = 10

4x = 10 + 10

4x = 20

x = 5

Now, put the value of x in equation 2 to find the value of y.

x + y = 5

5 + y = 5

y = 5 - 5

y = 0

Thus, the value of y is 0.
