if 2x -3 = -1 then find x

2x-3=-1
2x=-1+3
2x=2
x=2/2
x=1

Heya,  

2x - 3 = - 1  

=> 2x = - 1 + 3  

=> 2x = 2  

=> x = 2/2 = 1  

Therefore, x = 1  

Note : When we transpose a Number from one side to another side the sign gets changed.  

i.e.  

(+) becomes (-)  

(-) becomes (+)  

(×) becomes (÷)  

(÷) becomes (×)  

Example,  

x - 3 = 2  

=> x = 2 + 3  

=> x = 5  

Here, we had transposed -3 to another side where it became + 3..​
