2x + 3y = 1

2x = 1 - 3y

x = 1 - 3y / 2 ....... (1)

4x - 3y = 5

4x = 5 + 3y

x = 5 + 3y / 4 .... (2)

Combining (1) and (2) , we get

1 - 3y / 2 = 5 + 3y / 4

4 ( 1 - 3y ) = 2 ( 5 + 3y )

4 - 12y = 10 + 6y

-18y = 6

y = -1/3

Put y = -1/3 in (1)

x = 1- 3 × -1/3 / 2 = 1 + 1 /2 = 1

So , x + y = 1 + (-1/3) = 3 - 1 /3 = 2/3

Answer:

2x+3y=1....(i)

4x-3y=5..(ii)

so,,,6x=6 (by doing addition)

x=6/6

x=1

by putting the value of x in (i) we will get,

2*1+3y=1

3y=1-2

y=-1/3

now,x+y=1+(-1/3)

x+y=3-1/3

so the value of x+y=2/3
