3x + 2y = 5

2x = 12 - 3y

x = 12 - 3y/2

3(12-3y/2) + 2y = 5

36 - 9y + 4y = 10

36 - 5y = 10

36 = 10 + 5y

15y = 36

y = 36/15 or 12/5

x = 12 - 3y/2

x = 12 - 3(12/5) /2

x = 12 - 36/10

10x = 120 - 36

10x = 84

x = 84/10 or 42/5
