Answer:

2x+3y=14-----(1)

2x-3y=2-----(2)

Adding equation (1) and(2)

4x=16

x=16/4

x=4

Put, x=4 in equation (2)

2×4-3y=2

8-3y=2

-3y=2-8

-3y=-6

y=2

Therefore, xy=4×2=8

I hope it helps...

Given

2x + 3y = 14

2x - 3y = 2

________________________

4x = 16

x =  \frac{16}{4}

x = 4

Subsitute X value in 2x+3y=14

2(4) + 3y = 14

8 + 3y = 14

3y = 14 - 8

3y = 6

y =  \frac{6}{3}

y = 2

The value of x=4 and y=2

Verification:

2x + 3y = 14

2(4) + 3(2)

8 + 6 = 14

LHS=RHS

The value of xy=(4)(2)

xy=8
