Answer:

We are given two equations :-

2x-3y = 14 -------------(1)

5x+2y = 16 ------------(2)

Using eq-(1), find the values of x and y, will find the value of x here :-

2x-3y = 14 :-

2x = 14+3y

x = 14+3y/2 ----------(3)

Substitute the value of (x) of eq-(3) in eq-(2) :-

5x+2y = 16 :-

5(14+3y/2) +2y = 16

70+15y/2 + 2y = 16

70+15y+4y/2 = 16

70+19y/2 = 16

70+19y = 16×2

70+19y = 32

19y = 32-70

19y = 38

y = 38/19

y = 2.

Now, Substitute the value of (y=2) in eq-(3) :-

x = 14+3y/2

x = 14+3(2)/2

x = 14+6/2

x = 20/2

x = 10.

Hence, the values of *x* and *y* are 10 and 2 respectively.........
