2x+ 3y = 14 ....... 1

2x - 3y = 2.......... 2

sub eq 2 frm 1 we get

6y = 12

so y = 2

by putting y = 2 in eq 1 we get

2x + 3×2= 14

2x + 6= 14

2x= 8

and x = 4

x = 4 and y = 2

So, xy

= x × y

= 4 × 2

= 8

2x + 3y = 14

2x - 3y = 2

(-) (+) (-)

--------------------------------

6y = 12

y = 2

Putting y = 2 on 2x - 3y = 2

2x - 3×2 = 2

2x - 6 = 2

2x = 8

X = 4

Hence,

X = 4

and

y = 2
