On multipeing equ. (i) by 2

4x+6y=34_____(iii)

Now, on multipeing equ. (ii) by 3

9x+6y=39_____(iv)

On subtracting equ.(iii) from (iv)

9x+6y=39

4x+6y=34

5x=5

x=1

Putting value of x in equ.(iii)

4(1)+6y=34

6y=34/4

y=30/6

y=5

So, x+y=1+5

=6
