Answer:

The given system of equations is:  2x - 3y - 17 = 0 ….(i)  4x + y - 13 = 0 …..(ii)  The given equations are of the form  a1x + b1y + c1 = 0 and a2x + b2y + c2 = 0  where, a1 = 2, b1= -3, c1 = -17 and a2 = 4, b2 = 1, c2 = -13

Now

Since, a1/a2 ≠ b1/b2 , therefore the system of equations has unique solution.  Using cross multiplication method, we have

Step-by-step explanation:

The given system of equations is:

2x - 3y - 17 = 0 ….(i)

4x + y - 13 = 0 …..(ii)

The given equations are of the form a1x + b1y + c1 = 0 and a2x + b2y + c2 = 0 where, a1 = 2, b1= -3, c1 = -17 and a2 = 4, b2 = 1, c2 = -13

Now Since, a1/a2 ≠ b1/b2 , therefore the system of equations has unique solution.
