2.x * 3.y = 18

⇒6.x.y=18

⇒x.y = 3 i.e; y=3/x

And,22.x * 3.y=36

⇒11.x.y=6

Putting value of 'y'

11 . x . 3 / x = 6

33 = 6

Which is never Possible!!

I think the actual question is: If 2^x * 3^y=18 and 2^2x * 3^y=36, the value of x is:

Answer: From second equation, put value of 3^y in first equation i.e.

3^y= 36/2^2x

Therefore, we get

=> 2^x * 36/2^2x =18

=> 2^(-x)=18/36

=> 1/2^x = 1/2

=> 2^x = 2^1

=> x=1

Therefore, the value of x = 1.
