if 2x+3y=24 and 2x-3y=12.then find xy

2x - 3y = 12 ...........................(2)

By adding Eqn (1) & (2)

2x + 3y + 2x - 3y = 24 + 12
 so,    4x = 36
     so, x = 9 

     By putting x = 9 in Eqn(1)

2(9) + 3y = 24

 so, 3y = 24 -18
      3y = 6
 so, y = 2

Hence, x*y = 9*2 = 18
