QUESTION:

if 2x+3y=6 and 3x+2y=9 then x+y=

ANSWER:

(1)3x+2y=9

(2)2x+3y=6

by elimination method ,

(1) × 2 6x+4y = 18

(2) × 3 6x+9y = 18

_________________

-5y = 0

y=0

sub/: y=0 in (1)

(1) 3x+2(0)=9

3x = 9

x= 9/3

x= 3

therefore ,

x= 3

y= 0

then

x+y = 3+0 = 3
