add equation (1) and (2)

=> 5x + 5y =15

=> 5(x+y) = 15

=> x+y = 3

We have two equations! ..

2x + 3y = 7 ---------- (1)
3x + 2y = 8 ---------(2)

Now, let us add these equations!.

We get,

5x + 5y = 15!.

now , let us take 5 common!.

we get,

5(x + y ) = 15

then,

x + y = 15/5

x + y = 3!
