(2x + 3y) {}^{2}  = 4 {x}^{2}  + 9 {y}^{2}  + 2(2x)(3y) \\  \\  {8}^{2}  = 4 {x}^{2}  + 9y {}^{2}  + (2 \times 2 \times 3 \times 4) \\ 4 {x}^{2}  + 9 {y}^{2}  = 64 - 48 = 16
